FÁRI Irén – NAGY Ádám: Szegedi iskolák, egyenruhák, jelvények a két világháború között
IRÉN FÁRI - ÁDÁM NAGY SCHOOLS, UNIFORMS, BADGES IN SZEGED BETWEEN THE TWO WORLD WARS A diverse network of schools characterised the city of Szeged between the two world wars. From elementary schools, through different secondary and comprehensive schools, to the university, all types of schools were available in the city. In present study the authors survey the secondary educational institutions from special aspects: they try to reconstruct the school uniforms used between the two world wars, by analysing school almanacs, reminiscences and photographs. Additionally, the postcard collection of the museum, together with the badges found in the numismatic collection complete the picture gained on schools and school-life. Also the dating of the badges becomes possible, since both the changes in the organizational structure of schools, and the names are marked on the badges. Based on the revealed data, the following picture may be outlined: from the middle of the 1930s the schools gradually introduced the usage of compulsory uniform caps, at the same time with the Hungarian style uniforms. Present paper reveals the development of this process.
