GLÜCK Jenő: Adatok a szomszéd Arad vármegye 48-49-es történetéhez

JENŐ GLÜCK ADDITIONAL DATA TO THE HISTORY OF THE ARAD COUNTY BETWEEN 1848 AND 1849 This writing is a study of relevant material (for the period of 1848-49) from the collection of the Arad National Archives. It also makes use of documents from the Greek Orthodox Roman Bishopric of Arad and the Greek Orthodox monastery of Hose-Bodrog. All of the documents concerning events that took place in Arad county from 1848 to 1849 are essentially composed of unpublished manuscripts. Following a very brief overview of preceding events, these documents aid the visualization of circumstances which took place in the county of Arad and its region during the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-49. Such events consisted of the discontinuation of the corvée of the serf, the development of religious and ecclesiastic relationships, the situation of the minorities of the state and finally, the recruitment of the national guard. In other words, all those significant developments are described here, in the life of Arad county, which emerged from the events of 1848-49 and which could not be abolished even by the catastrophy at Világos.
