Nóra Purgel „Blessings and peace!" at Szegvár - Data for the story of the reformed community „Blessings and peace!" at Szegvár Data for the story of the reformed community Nóra Purgel Man and women of faith attending the reformed temple of Szegvár - a place mostly inhabited by Catholics - form a small, but thriving community. Their renovated temple stands on the main street of the town so the strained efforts of a decade towards building this communal place and establish a community are not apparently visible. Using written and oral sources, one may reconstruct the chain of events from the 20th century, which lead to today’s awareness, love-feasts and last but not least: active religious practices. The pastor, who visits them from the nearby town of Hódmezővásárhely is driven not only by duty, but by love, since he is always received with great affection. This community provides a lifeline for the followers of the reformed religion to persevere in the coming decades. My study deals with the history of the reformed community of 20th century Szegvár, based on statistics and informants pertaining to the settlement. 352
