Anita Hegedűs-Konstantin Medgyesi 2 Ist Century Image of Munkácsy as a Painter 21st Century Image of Munkácsy as a Painter Communication of the Munkácsy-Exhibition in Szeged, 2012 Anita Hegedűs - Konstantin Medgyesi In 2012, the exhibition entitled "Golden Brush - Munkácsy in Szeged”, introducing the world famous artist’s oeuvre, was one of the greatest successes in the Móra Ferenc Museum, Szeged. The exhibition being open for half a year meant a challenge for the communication managers of the museum: how media interest can be main­tained for such a long period, and how the exhi­bition may raise interest after a few months. The institution was able to cope up with these challenges by applying unusual and unique communication techniques and methods, also performing revolutionary ideas. Present study introduces and evaluates these creative initiations, also dealing with the characteristics of tabloidized media, at the same time drawing the most important conclu­sions and summarizing the experiences of the exhibition. 592
