Száz év műtárgyai a Munkácsy Mihály Múzeumban 1899-1999 (Békéscsaba, 1999)

Ezek közül Borsos Miklós, Csohány Kálmán, Feledy Gyula, Gács Mihály, Hincz Gyula, Kass János, Reich Károly és Würtz Ádám lapjait kell külön kiemelnünk. Az utóbbi időben mindinkább hangsúlyt kapó pályázati rendszerhez kapcsolódóan, immár a 90-es évek legfrissebb szemléletű műveivel gazdagodik anyagunk {Gerber Pál, Orosz István, Révész László). Hagyatéki átadás utján számos Kondor Béla grafika, Hermann Lipót vázlat és rajz, Szőnyi István rézkarc és akvarell jutott birtokunkba. A Munkácsy Mihály Múzeumban megrendezésre kerülő Tervezőgrafikai Biennálék díjazott műveire és az 1990-es évekig tevékenykedő Alkalmazott Grafikai Művésztelep anyagára épül fel az a gyűjteményi rész, mely a nyomdai úton sokszorosított művek mellett egyedi műveket, terveket is magában foglal az alkalmazott grafika minden műfajából (plakátok, illusztrációk, kereskedelmi nyomtatványok stb. ). A gyűjtemény gyarapodásának forrásai: 1. Kulturális plakátok a Műcsarnok és a Művelődési Minisztérium átadásában, mely szintén a nyolcvanas évekig tekinthető folyamatosnak. 2. Az 1978 óta múzeumunkban megrendezésre kerülő szakmai biennálék díjazottjainak művei, valamint a művészek ajándékozása folytán idekerült plakátok. 3. A Békéscsabai Alkalmazott Grafikai Művésztelepen 1978-1990 között készült művek. Az 1978-tól évenként változó témában kiírt művésztelepek után, az 1984-ben kezdődő műhelymunkában a Magyarországot karakteresen és korszerű grafikai eszközökkel megjelenítő "nemzeti arculat" megformálásán dolgoztak a rendszeresen visszatérő alkotók. A művek között, ebben a tematikai szempontból is egyedülálló anyagban, emblématervek és arculatok, a magyar termékeket egységes megjelenítésben tálaló csomagolások, a magyar identitást és hagyománykeresést is felvállaló önálló grafikai lapok, valamint a grafikai gondolat kialakulásának csíráit és folyamatát is bemutató, koncepcionalista fogantatású művek mellett a korszerű nyomdatechnikával kísérletező, elsősorban kulturális plakátok szerepelnek. A békéscsabai tervezőgrafikai biennálék elindítójaként is ismert, a konstruktivista hagyományokat az érzékeny grafikai tisztasággal párosító Papp Gábor életművének legfontosabb művei szintén az Alkalmazott Grafikai Gyűjteményünk részét képezik. 94 Thus the graphic products of the 1970s, 1980s can be found representatively in our collection, especially the unique works, which is characteristic feature of other periods also. We have to emphasise especially the sheets of Miklós Borsos, Kálmán Csohány, Gyula Feledy, Mihály Gács, Gyula Hincz, János Kass, Károly Reich, and Ádám Würtz among them. Through the application system that has been played more and more important role recently, our collection has been enriched with the works representing the freshest approach of the 1990s {Pál Gerber, István Orosz, László Révész). Through inheritance we could acquire numerous graphics of Béla Kondor, sketches and drawings of Lipót Hermann, aquarelles and copper engravings of István Szőnyi. The collection that includes designs from every field of the applied graphics (posters, illustrations, sale printings etc.) in addition to works reproduced in printing way, is based on the awarded works of the Design Graphic Biennial organised in the Munkácsy Mihály Museum and on the material of the Applied Graphic Colony of Artists which activated till the 1990s." The sources of the acquisition of the collection: 1. Cultural posters delivered by the Art-gallery and the Ministry of Culture permanently till the 1980s 2. The awarded works of the professional biennial that has been organised in our museum since 1978 as well as the posters donated by the artists. 3. Works made at the Applied Graphic Colony of Artists in Békéscsaba between 1978-1990. From 1978 till 1984 the topics were changing in the colony of artists, from 1984, however, the regularly returning artists endeavoured to form the "national image" of Hungary with modern graphic means. Among the works, which are unique also in thematic aspect, we can find emblem-designs and images, package-designs presenting the Hungarian products in uniform appearance, original graphic sheets undertaking the Hungarian identity and traditions, conceptionalist works showing also the origin and the process of the fomiation of graphic thought and primarily cultural posters experimenting with modem printing techniques. The most important works of the oeuvre of Gábor Papp, who is wellknown as the initiator of the design graphic biennial of Békéscsaba and who conjugated the constructivist traditions with sensitive graphic pureness, also can be found in our Applied Graphic Collection.
