Gyucha Attila–Medgyesi Pál–Szatmári Imre: A régészeti osztály ismertetett műtárgyai
40. Aranypénzek (késő középkor, XIV-XV. század) Lelőhelyük: ismeretlen a., Leltári száma: 52.2603.1. Átm.:2,lcm, Súlya: 3,6 g b., Leltári száma: 52.2605.1. Átm.:2,2cm, Súlya: 3,55 g с, Leltári száma: 52.2614.1. Átm.:2,2cm, Súlya: 3,55 g A Károly Róbert király (1308-1342) által megkezdett középkori magyar aranypénzverés emlékei I. Lajos (1342-1382), Zsigmond (1386-1437) és I. Mátyás (1458-1490) király uralkodása idejéből. évi beleltározásukra is. 39. Pair of cloth-hooks (late Middle Ages, 14 th - 16 th century) Place of finding: Békéscsaba, village of Megyer Inventory number: 86.10.38 and 86.10.39 L.: 4.1 cm, W.:2cm, H: 1.1cm Finely elaborated pair of cloth-hooks made of gilt silver with basket-, tendril- and leaf-shaped ornament with inlaid stone. It was found in the field of Békéscsaba, in the grave no. 41 of the graveyard located around the church of the medieval Megyer village during an excavation carried out in 1986. The grave was located in the one-naved, round-arched church of the village, in the area of the nave, before the chancel arch. The church and the graveyard of the long-ago village were totally destroyed around the turn of the 16 th17 century or during the 17 th century, its place was managed to be identified only with systematic archaeological excavation. The uniqueness and value of the gilt silver and silver cloth-hooks found in the grave and the place of the grave prove the noble state of the wearer, and its exceptional beauty proves the high level of our late medieval goldsmith's trade. 40. Golden money coins (late Midle Ages, 14 th - 15 th century) Place of finding: unknown a., Inventory number: 52.2603.1 D.: 2.1 cm, Weight: 3.6 g b., Inventory number: 52.2605.1 D.: 2.2 cm, Weight: 3.55 g е., Inventory number: 52.2614.1 D.: 2.2 cm, Weight: 3.55 g Relics of the medieval Hungarian golden coinage started by King Charles Robert [Károly Róbert] (13081342), from the age of Louis I [Lajos] (1342-1382), Sigismund [Zsigmond] (1386-1437) and Matthias I [Mátyás] (1458-1490) kings. On the reverse of the first coin (a) Baptist Saint John can be seen with the inscription + S ЮНА - NNES В, on the obverse of the second one (b) divided arms and the inscription + SIGISMUNDI D G R VNGARIE can be found, and on the observe of the coin of King Matthias (c) the Madonna holding the small Jesus in her arm and the round-inscription MATHIAS D-GR VNGARIE appear. They came to the collection of the MuseumAssociation of Békéscsaba by the donation of the Hungarian National Museum in 1900, so they also appeared in the inventory of the collection published still in 1903. According to recollections, owing to the quick approach of the front in 1944 Géza Korniss who was the director of the museum between 1932 and 1944 - rescued the gold and silver coins of the collection to the West and following the war in 1945 he delivered the finds in an envelope to the office of the City Council. In 1951, six years later, before the lime-wash of the office-chamber the envelope addressed to the museum was found again and the coins were registered at that time in 1952.
