List: Art world of Békés County from the end of the Second World War to nowadays - Gabriella Gyarmati Resume In a natural way, the eclectic characterized the fine arts and applied arts of Békés County in the past decades, and we can describe the occurrences taking place nowadays in this way. Nationally or also internationally known, popular artists as well as creators working incidentally for repositories, folders (other storing rooms or depots) in their self-seclusion, who can be characterized with the most diverse constellation being between quality and notoriety, draw together an authentic picture about our region. This compilation made without the demand of completeness - since the topic is much more far-reaching, than it is convey able in this concentrated elaboration by defining through the creators attempts to represent in outline the artistic ambitions and occurrences of the period encompassed. The personal orientations and undertakings come into the limelight, and creative circles, movements of artists' colony as well as companies and organizations having related profiles are relegated to the background. The methodology of the study by dominantly areal distribution is manifold, consequently a particular life work, and another time the process of change in style or the returning appearance of identical choice of subject gets into a central function. I acknowledge even myself that in this inventory-like collection I have let my own scale of values prevail maybe too many times. However, since I am not the first processor of this topic I have endeavored to put emphasis rather on otherwise seeing (as starting point and method of approach) and on points (content line) differing from the former publications.
