THE GERECSE AND VÉRTES MOUNTAINS In fractures in the calcareous Triassic sedimentary rocks, calcite and dolomite are the most common minerals. These are occasionally accompanied by some barite and aragonite. Most beautiful associations of this type occur in the vicinity of Dorog and Csolnok. In the many caves in the Triassic limestones, calcite, aragonite, barite, and gypsum are most plentiful and may occur in various habits. Several cave formations were brought to the surface as by-products of coal mining around Tokod where many cavities rich in minerals were found containing a lot of calcite and aragonite.
