Történettudomány - Simon József Mokan-komité: A miskolci-diósgyőri ellenállás története
332 Simon József MOKAN-COMMITTEE: STORY OF MISKOLC-DIÓSGYŐR REBELLION Keywords: iron factory, sabotage, Second World War, malenki robot During the Second World War in Hungary in 1944 the Hungarian Communist Party that entered illegality announced ’national ‘rebellion under the name Peace party in order to gain contributors from wider circles. The iron factory in Diósgyőr and the working class living in Miskolc and its surroundings provided a proper background for creating an illegally functioning revolt group. Therefore a small local group of communists started to organize a group and founded MOKAN-committee. They wanted to set up an armed squad but it was not supported either by the Soviet occupying forces. They were only allowed to do that later since 1945 by the Miskolc town commandant as a Hungarian order protection force. The role of revolt group in the fight against German occupying forces and in reconquering Miskolc is exaggerated due to ’myth production of’ the dictatorship. Voluntary actions of members of resistance as an armed military force may raise the question of responsibility'. Stories about people of Miskolc who were sent to carry out forced labour in the Soviet Union can be known from private documents that was emphasized by Sándor Zsíros in his work titled Under the Front.
