A Janus Pannonius Múzeum Évkönyve ( 2017 ) 402 but was remained inhabited during the era of Ottoman occupation and was even rebuilt a?er the destruction by the Long Turkish War in the first half of the 17th century (eighth construction period). Finally, during the wars of the 1660s and 1680s, the medieval building collapsed and an adobe building was erected on the ruins of the Northeast Turkish building (ninth building period). ?e ruins were pulled down only a hundred years later, in the 1770s by Bishop György Klimó, except for the oldest part of the castle, the western palace wing, which was renovated and converted into a parish house next to the new baroque parish church built on the site of the southern external yard of the castle. At the beginning of the 19th century and in the mid 19th century, two major transformations (tenth and eleventh construction periods) were carried out, whereby the internal structure was completely redesigned.
