A Kr. e. 6 . évezred második felének új kutatási eredményei... 177 styles, at least in terms of shapes and decorations, is very rarely detected on household level. According to the above, we consider the so-called Ražištetype not as a variant of the Sopot culture, but rather as a local facies of the early Vinča culture, which could be the forerunner of the classical Sopot pottery style along the right bank of the Danube. ?e subsequent development of our region, right a?er the Vinča A3 period is still in question. Pottery assemblages, dated to the Vinča B1a-B1b period have not yet been identified in the area of the South Baranya Hills. Based on the currently available radiocarbon data, the classic Sopot Culture (Sopot II) appears in the southern Transdanubia at the time of the Vinča B1b/B2 period (around 5100 cal BC) at the latest, however, its sites are not yet known between the Drava and the Mecsek mountains. As we have seen, the settlement activity in Szederkény and Versend has ended before this period.
