Természettudományok - Ortmanné Ajkai Adrienne–Dénes Andrea: A Dráva-holtágak fátlan növénytársulásai

ORTMANN-NÉ AJKAI A. ÉS DÉNES A.: A DRÁVA-HOLTÁGAK FÁTLAN NÖVÉNYTÁRSULÁSAI 39 Non-forest vegetation of oxbows of river Drava, South Hungary Adrienne ORTMANN-AJKAI and Andrea DÉNES Drava Lowland is one of the great wet lowlands of Hungary - a landscape type endangered and disappearing worldwide. Borderside position and economical backwardness has helped for decades to preserve near-natural habitats and their ancient flora and fauna, but this area was almost "white spot" for science until last time. In the last decade - first of all because of establishment of Duna-Dráva National Park - scientific study of wildlife has quickened up, on the other hand landscape-destructing social-economical processes have got stronger after the change of political system, so nature conservation and working out its scientifical base is more urgent today than ever before. Remnants of vast wetlands of former Drava lowland, where the river and its tributaries had changed their bed continuously (disappeared as a consequence of river regulaton in the 18th century), are preserved best in oxbows, which are small but very diverse. Very few botanists had studied them before till last years, when authors made floristical and coenological research in more than 50 oxbows of Drava in Baranya county. This paper presents systematical coenological characterisation of non-forest communities (Lemnetea, Potametea, Phragmitetea australis). More interesting ones of the 27 communities: Salvinio-Spirodeletwn, Wolffietum arrhizae, Riccietumfluitantis, Nymphaeetum albo-luteae, Nymphoidetum peltatae, Trapaetum natantis, Thelypteridi-Typhetum angustifoliae, Acoretum calami, Caricetwn elatae.
