CADDISFLIES OF THE EASTERN MECSEK MOUNTAINS, HUNGARY (TRICHOPTERA), II. Sára U. NÓGRÁDI and Ákos UHERKOVICH Abstract. About 3500 caddisfly specimens of 46 species were captured by light traps, Malaise traps and personally. Plectrocnemia minima Klap. proved to be new for the Hungarian fauna. Introduction A few years ago Nógrád? s (1987) paper introduced 64 Trichoptera species from the Eastern Mecsek Mountains. Four other papers (Malicky et al. 1986, Nógrádi 1984, Nógrádi et al. 1985, Újhelyi 1971) also presented some further data about the caddisflies of this region. Since the finishing of Nógrádfs (1987) manuscript (Oct. 1984) further materials were collected on this area either personally or by traps. Method and material Two light traps were operated in the landscape protection area. In the years 1985-1986 a light trap was erected at Óbánya, outside the village. Around this trap two artifical fish ponds laid. Their water was rather polluted and eutrophized because of many duck and geese were reared there. Close by the trap the Óbánya stream runs. Its water was permanent but the fluctuation of water level was rather big. In May 1985 a violent, torrential rain inundated the valley and the bed of stream was damaged heavily. It could be supposed that the caddis larvae communities suffered a loss. This light trap captured 1408 males and 823 females of 41 species. On the same place a Malaise trap was operated by Dr. S. Tóth for dipterological purposes. During these two years (1985-1986) it captured 63 males and 27 females of 16 species. One of them (Beraea pullata Curt.) was not collected by the light trap. A few times we collected some materials on the same place by lamp or by net personally. The other light trap was erected at Püspökszentlászló, nearby Hosszúhetény. This trap was operated from 11th May till 31st October 1989. During this period 996 males and 188 females of 27 species were taken here. On the same site a Malaise trap captured few specimens of 11 species during the years 1984-1986. In the past years several other points were visited (Hidas, Hosszúhetény, Kisújbánya, Mecseknádasd, Magyaregregy, Ófalu, Vékény, Zengővárkony). The collections at these sites yielded only few specimens of some species. The collected material In this section all data are presented. The abbreviation of collectors' name: (F)=L. Forró, (M)=H.
