D. 270-275) was unearthed outside the room, in the NE corner of the block, from a depth of 40 cm. Room E (Block I) Figs. 2, 8-10. N-S = 100 cm E-W = 140 cm Dimensions: Walls: N = W13/30 cm S = W12/40 cm E = W13/30 cm W = Wl/60 cm Wall W13, starting from the E, breaks and runs squarely towards the W. Its height from the foundation to the top: 55 cm. The brick remnants of a hypocaust pillar could be discerned lowest down at its N end, lying on undisturbed soil. As distinguished from the above-discussed technique, the binding material of this stonework was low-grade mortar mixed with brick-bats. ARTICLES 0-50 cm: FRAGMENT OF FRESCO.
