EXCAVATIONS AT LÁNYCSÓK IN 1976 125 12. Pit. Early Neolithic, Starcevo Culture. An avarian grave had been dug into the pit. (PI. II. 3.) It contained a little amount of potsherds. 13. Pit. Early Neolithic, Starcevo Culture. Small in size with few sherds in it. 14. Brown earth deposit of uncertain shape excavated between the pits 12. and 15. Starcavo sherds and fragments from Copper Age vessels (Balaton group). 15. Pit. Early Neolithic, Starcevo culture. Little amount of potsherds. In the upper level of its deposit a skull of a goat was found. 16. Pit. Roman Age. The pit of a relatively large extension had destroyed other objects of prehistoric origin. The earth fill in the pit contained not only Roman Age pottery but Early Neolithic, Early Bronze Age and Late Bronze Age sherds as well. The separable parts of the disturbed group of pits are shown on the plan (fig. 7.). 17. Trench (?). The hardly traceable lower part of a trenchlike indentation was found west from the pit 16. No finds. 18. Pit. Early Bronze Age. It is of oval shape. The earth of it was ashy in texture. The pit cannot de determined more closely from the point of view of its cultural connection.
