UNPUBLISHED FINDS FROM THE V. CENTURY ORIGINATED FROM TRANSDANURIA IN THE BRITISH MUSEUM AND THE JANUS PANNONIUS MUSEUM OF PÉCS ATTILA KISS Author collected the following finds while on a private study-tour in England in 1969, and during his topographic work. Most of them have a sporadic character and thus their evaluation is rather difficult. With their publication author intended to furnish some data for further research. (Fig. I.) 1 1 I should like to thank here Mr. R. L. S. BruceMitford and Mrs. L. Webster to make the finds available for publication, as for the photographs. I am equally indebted to M. Kampis for the drawings, to K. Nándor for the photographic work, and to ö. F. Kerpel for the translation. Figure 1. General map of Transdanubia with the sites of discovery BABARC—Main Road (Baranya County) Circumstances of discovery: Gy. Török, director of the Municipal Museum of Pécs was requested by the Hungarian National Museum to investigate the graves found during the building of the interconnecting road of Babarc (Fig. 2.). The territory was explored between the 28th september and the 4th October 1939, on a road-section 725 to 752 m from the main-road from Mohács to Pécs and around it. Trenches were dug and three graves — inclusive the one found by the road-builders — were unearthed. Figure 2. Babarc. General plan of the cemetery
