A probe into the spiritual life of prehistoric people, a reflection of shamanism in archaeology Models of houses The house was of great significance for prehistoric people, and still has it today. The house had the function of protecting humans and their closest people from cold, rain or heat. It was also a gathering place for people from a particular territory (settlement, micro region) for important negotiations. J. Pavúk (1986; 1990; 1992) obtained very valuable findings in large-scale excavation at Zlkovce, Hlohovec district, of the large settlement of the Lengyel culture of stage II. In the middle of the settlement with a peripheral palisade was at first a simple, in the next stages a double rondel palisade construction with four gates in the direction of the world sides. It was remarkable that the ground plan of the inner building, in the vicinity of the northern entrance of a slightly irregular circle (79x73 m), was reconstructed for each building phase. The author of the research believes that the circular palisade could be an acropolis of the settlement and was a continuation of the circular enclosures with ditches, rondels of the stage Lengyel I and the phase MOG la. The building in the enclosure could fulfill the role of a community building to the other inhabitants of the settlement (and be the house of a leading personality). The remaining fenced area, especially in the southern part of the rondel, must undoubtedly have some use. The purpose of the house and this area in the rondel is likely to complement each other.
