The idea of Siberian "sacred hole" is furthermore interesting as it is associated with shamanic ritualism, which often included experiences of altered states of consciousness. It was proved that trance experiences often imply similar feelings and imaginations, it cannot be excluded then that this particular belief belongs to archetypal beliefs (Halifax 1982; Hume 2007; Le­wis-Williams 2010). If rooted in experiments with the spectrum of consciousness, it is possible they could developed independently in different cultures and different times.
