Mária Schön The Calvary of the people and a family from Hajós in the decade after the Second World War Mária Schön analyzes the historical events that tortured the German population of Hajós village between 1944 and 1954 in three parts. The topics in Part One are the following: “malenki robot” in the Soviet Union (literally meaning “small work”), internment camp in Kalocsa, distress the houses and wealth of the settlers, World War II victims of Hajós and the great relocation to Germany. The author follows the disgrace of her mother’s and father’s family in the second part. The third closing part gives an outline of the historical role of Hungarian Germans.
