The results of Ede Solymos and IvánBalassa’s friendship - the Tool-historical Archive at the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture

Iván Balassa founded the Tool-historical Archive at the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture in 1962. Balassa enriched the growing collection of the museum with help of his paid outworker colleagues and with the guidance of Ede Solymos.

Ede Solymos, as the director of István Türr Museum did the written records and descriptions of works of art in his museum. This work lasted until the mid-1970s with many encounters between Zsigmond Csorna and Ede Solymos. On these occasions the author of this article was able to get to know Ede Solymos’ nice and raconteur personality and also his wife.

Zsigmond Csorna also learned a lot by the technical revisions from Ede Solymos. Ede Solymos used to talk a lot about his good friend Károly Gáli, who was the professor of folklore at the University of Vienna.
