Kelemen Kothencz Historical and ethnographical data about the water mill-owners’ organisation on the River Danube in the early 19th century

The millers’ advocacy organizations were the guilds in Baja and Szekszárd in the 18-19th century. We know about the archival documents by the archbishop court of Kalocsa that the water mill-owners has an association around the town Kalocsa next to the River Danube.

These mill-owner’s association has own rules, text oath and could judge of the renitent members. This organisation had written protocol which details this article’s writer found on the Archives of the Kalocsa Archbishopric. The archival documents contained the miller’s role and their water-mills works.
