The Contemporary Christian Iconographical Biennale and the art collection of Kecskemét
complemented with documentations. The other basic element is the systematic collection for more than one and a half decades which resulted in creating a currently unique (in a state-run museum in Hungary) and special unit within the fine art collection of the Katona József Museum of Kecskemét. The collection is continually increasing and by 2017 consists of more than 400 recorded items. Due to the lack of financial frame, the acquisition is based on artists'donations, therefore the composition and the quality of the collection depend on the goodwill of artists and the themes of the biennales, and we also try to make use of the tenders for acquisition of the National Cultural Fund. We know from the artists that they are more likely to donate when selections of the collection are displayed at exhibitions making the museum objects real and accessible (e.g. the Synagogue Gallery of Eger; Klebelsberg Cultural Centre, Budapest; St. Stephen Church, Kiskunfélegyháza; Museum of Pesterzsébet; 10 Számvetés - Klebelsberg Kultúrkúria, Budapest / Account - Klebelsberg Cultural Centre, Budapest (2014)
