and in smaller county seats where there are no philosophical universities or colleges they became determining scientific workshops. Writing local history got special interest because of the given sources among these the determining ones are historical researches of administration, demographic and social historical researches from the point of view of historical statistics. Besides these there are all kinds of topics, (economical, institutional and family history and so on.) Considering the genres we have to emphasize the publication of sources that is a real profile of archives. Besides publications on paper more and more CD-ROM-s have been published during the last few years due to the technical development and financial support. There have been scientific publications since the 1960s but mainly since the mid 1970s in nearly each archival periodicals, mostly in their own almanacs. There has been an incredible increase in scientific publications of county archives during the last one and a half decade and due to the introduction of the already known personal and one research day and the development of technology. The interested spectators could realize the mentioned fact at the muster organized 21 st 22 nd November 2001 by Hungarian Archivists' Association with the title of 'Written Memory'", where the publications of the last fifteen years were introduced.
