The building of the Archives of Military History only after World War II when the collection was also moved to the building of Palatine army post. The first collection of the Archives included the documents of World War that were sent home from the battle fields and which were copied in department 1/a of Ministry of War. Besides these after the collapse of Monarchy the 'alive', administrative registers of military troops being on the territory of Hungary were included in the Archives of the Military History. The political treaty with Austria promised to greatly increase of the amount of material after the peace treaty. The final agreement took place after years of long preparation and was signed on 26t h May 1926 in Baden bei Wien and came into effect as a result of the Trianon Peace Treaty signed on 4 th June 1920 in Paris by the victorious powers of the World War. According to this agreement Austria obliged itself to deliver the documents to Hungary, as the documents were considered Hungarian intellectual possessions. It was agreed that the common ones which were considered to be common possessions 'were to remain in' Vienna. The Hungarian government delegated with the attribution of the Austrian government commissaries of certain numbers for this task. Accordingly, the Hungarian Archive Branch Office still functions in the State Archives of Vienna and in the military archives.
