as the archives of Hungary. The same kind of documents can be found in the archives of Hungary. The number of the materials of the Photo Collection has increased significantly due to the researches by many archives and obtained materials that have never belonged to Hungary. Most can be researched, not only on microfilms but in developed forms, also. Many are organized under special references. Additional original materials of archives, photos taken for special purposes also became part of the Hungarian National Archives. A small part of this collection contains non-file typed photos and the larger part contains file typed photos. According to the current regulations the copies kept in the Hungarian National Archives are still considered to belong to the original materials. Only those, the originals of which cannot be found in the Archives, have become part of the Photo Collection. In a separate section of the Photo Collection, one can find photos taken from the medieval documents. A great quantity of photos from medieval documents was collected during the last periods of this era. Most photos of the medieval documents contained the Diplomatic Archives have been made available for research. At the beginning of the 1970s the documents in the Photo Collection were arranged in chronological order that were modelled after the Diplomatic Archives. From the year of 1974 it became the rule to take photos from the documents in the Hungarian National Archives that and to give them serial numbers. You may be able to obtain information on the documents of Middle Ages in the institutions where they are held. Additional Hungarian archival materials from the Medieval era (of the following countries relating to Hungary) can be found in the collection: The United States of America, Austria, Belgium, the Czechs Republic, the Netherlands, Croatia, Yugoslavia, - Serbia, Poland, Germany, Norway, Italy, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Ukraine, the Vatican and Venezuela. The Seal Collection, (II th - 20 century - V section was arranged according to signets and seal imprints and their copies that can be found in these archives. The most important series are the plaster-cast of the royal seals of Hungarian kings and the plastic copies of unharmed seals of medieval documents. Besides these two series, original seals that were detached from the documents can be found in the collection together with a print collection with signets made for the purpose of collection- Altenburger - Réső, Zichy - Czikán, Attila Fodor, Sándor Tibor Németh, Mihály Okolicsányi, Jenő Zágoni and so on. A rare and valuable part of the collection is the one that involves the drawings of coat-of­arms and seals- Elemér Varjú, Gyula Végh etc.
