According to it the Association took over organizational tasks and the institutions published the finding aids and source publications. Since the middle of 1990s, the results of the work could be seen by the fact that one new university professional archives is established every year. In 1995 at the Hungarian School of Arts University in 1997 at the Hungarian School of Physical Education, University, in 1998 at the Hungarian Applied Arts of School University and in 1999 at the University of Veszprém. The Archival Council of Association modified the statues of the society at their meeting in November, 1996 and wanted to expand its operation throughout the country This intention was indicated in the change of the official name. The Association of Hungarian University and College Archives was formed in 1996. Archives of the country's universities and colleges and the collections of university history collaborated in this venture. One of the most important results of the work of the Association was making and publishing a common Hungarian university archives fond and holdings register. The Hungarian Higher Education History Team planned to publish a source list of the existing general Hungarian higher education history archives already in the second half of 1970s. It was József Antall, the director-general of Medical History Library and Archives, who proposed to form the institution of university archiving on 8 th June 1976.
