ECCLESIASTICAL ARCHIVES - The Archives of the Hungarian Calvinist Church by Erzsébet Horváth, István Szabadi, Márk Szentimrei, József Hadi, Edit Nagy

The material of our archives can be divided into five: I. The Archives of the Church District include the documents of the church district and its institutions. Beside the records of the church district and administrative documents, there can be found the documents of the Economic Council, Cash Office, the archives of county/town recorder, the documents of the Calvinist College of Pápa and its organizational entities (e.g. Academy of Theology, the Academy of Laws, Secondary £5| Grammar School), documents of its clerks and students' organizations. Documents of printing of the Calvinist College and those of the Calvinist Women's Education. Institution in Pápa are very important from historic point of view. Presently there are 15 fonds in 160 linear metres. II. Archives of the Diocese. It includes the documents of the general assembly records and documents of nine historical dioceses of the church district and the documents of diocesan institutions, which is about 70 linear metres. III. The Archives of Parishes. On the territory of church district there used to work 300 Calvinist congregations, the material of which is taken care of partly in parishes, partly in our central archives. The archives of church district maintains documents of more than one hundred congregations. Their classification and their supporting with findig aids started in the second half of the 1990s. IV The collection of personal fonds. It includes the documents of bishops, county/town recorders, college principals and teachers. Its quantity is about 8 linear metres. V Mixed collection. This fond group includes secular fonds of gifts, purchase and deposits. The fond and division registers give help the researchers. They were published in 1976. The other finding aids in manuscript and on computer can be found in the research room. There is possibility for photo­copying, reading microfilm and there is also a special library. According to the Hungarian legislation our archives as open private archives can be researched on weekdays. Diarium famulorum. ..' Front page of the list of granted students (18 th century)
