csehszlovák emigráció politikai vezetése céltudatosabban működött a magyarnál, mivel győztes félként hazájukba visszatérve a törvények adta lehetőségekkel élve kívántak nekilátni a csehszlovák nemzetállam megvalósításának. Velük szemben a magyar emigráció csupán Magyarország demokratizálásának szükségességét hangoztatta, és az egymással szembeni ellentéteik elsimításához használták fel a csehszlovák emigráció támogatását.

The Czechoslovak and Hungarian emigrant groups maintained contact with each other during the World War Two, which was deeply influenced by their political goals. The Czechoslovak Government in Exile feared that the Hungarian Government could agree with their Allies, thus they supported the anti-Horthy

emigrant groups, and they declared that they negotiate with Budapest only when the Hungarian regime will be democratic. The Czechoslovak Government in Exile favoured the Mihály

Károlyi led

progressive group and harshly opposed Tibor Eckhardt, who was in their eyes the hidden agent of Budapest in the USA. The main goal of this paper to show not only these - sometimes complicated - relations between the emigrant groups, but also how they used the Czechoslovak support or how they tried to defend themselves against the Edvard Benes led political emigrants.
