ADRIENN Z ÁVOCZKI THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO WORLD WARS IN THE SPIRIT OF ITALIAN–HUNGARIAN FRIENDSHIP In the thirties and forties of the twentieth century, there was a lively political, economic, and cultural relationship between Italy and Hungary. In addition to the intergovernmental conventions–knowing Benito Mussolini’s views on physical activities–, there were numerous opportunities in the field of leisure culture to strengthen diplomatic relations and to develop mutual sympathy for the two nations. Groups and associations were established, which have organized tours, sport events, and lectures for the mutual understanding of the cultural and natural values of the two states. Due to Act LIII of 1921, companies operating in Hungary created their sport clubs for their employees, which also contributed to the maintenance of a well-established political relationship between the two countries.
