Budapest, 1920. november 6. Mr. Johnson távirata a Foreign Office-nak a monarchista intrikákról No. 551. Your telegram No. 279. of November 3rd received yesterday. I saw Governor this morning and spoke to him about these alleged Monarchical Putsch intrigues. His Highness requested me to assure Your Lordship that though he had some information with regard to these plots, neither he nor Hungarian Government had nor would support such intrigues in any way whatever. He himself was legitimist but that did not prevent him from realizing that fór the present return of ex-Emperor (? or of) (? any) Habsburg to throne of Hungary was out of the question and would be disastrous to his country. He gave me his word that His Majesty's Government could count on him implicitly to prevent any of Hungarian Militarists or other re-Actionaries in National Assembly from taking part in any such attempts that may be engineered from abroad now and for some time to come. I think that he can be trusted to do all in his power to this end. I am reporting fully by next bag. Repeated to Paris No. 58. Prague No. 33. Gépelt másolat. — PRO FO 371. Hungary (21) 1920 — f. 283 — С 10 578. — A táviratot 1920. november 7-én 17 óra 30 perckor fejtették meg a Foreign Office-ban. Kivonat: A november 3-i távirati utasítás értelmében tárgyalt Horthy kormányzóval az állítólagos monarchista intrikákról. 3. Budapest, 1920. november 7. Mr. Johnson jelentése Fari Curzon-nek Horthyval a monarchista puccstervek ügyében folytatott beszélgetéséről. — Az 1920. november 6-i táviratban közöltek részletes kifejtése CONFIDENTIAL No. 783. My Lord, With reference to my telegram No. 551 of the 6th instant, I have the honour to report that on receipt of your Lordship's telegram No. 279 of the 3rd instant, which only reached me on the afternoon of the 5th instant, I applied immediately for an audience of his Highness the Governor. Admiral Horthy received me on Saturday morning, the 6th November. I told him that I had called to inform him that His Majesty's Government had recently become aware of certain alleged monarchie „Putsch" intrigues in Central Europe, in connection with which the names of Ludendorff and others had beeen quoted, and in which even his own name had been mentioned. I trusted there was no truth in this latter statement, and that it was only one more attempt made by the enemies of Hungary to discredit his Highness and this country in the eyes of the Entente Powers and of Europe in general.
