BÉLA ZADOR VINDICATORY AND DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES IN THE COUNTY OF SZOLNOK FOLLOWING THE OVERTHROW OF THE REPUBLIC OF COUNCILS IN 1919 Following the overthrow of the Hungarian Republic of Councils, vindicatory and disciplinary procedures, beside the massacres, internments, tortures and criminal suits, also belonged to the measures taken for terrorism, revenge and intimidation and for the consolidation of power. The decrees issued in 1919, the article no. XI of 1920 and other measures related to the officials of the state, state railways, of comitats, and to other employees, punished predominantly the pedagogues. Archive documents also support that in Szolnok county most of pedagogues agreed with the revolutions of 1918—19, accepted the programmes of the new power, took part in their realization and many of them even took leading positions. After the overthrow of the Republic of Councils, vindicatory and disciplinary procedures were started against 36 pedagogues in the county of Szolnok.
