Azért küldtem el ezt Nektek, mert a könyvkiadókkal kapcsolatos tapasztalatból tudom, hogy 4-5 levél igazgatósági ülést tud eredményezni. Másszóval szeretném megkérni Körünk pár tagját, hogy hasonló értelemben nyilatkozzanak, ha egyet értenek az általam Írottakkal. Szeretném azt is kérni, hogy azok, akik rászánják a levélírásra az időt és a bélyeget, azok ne legyenek udvariatlanok Fodorral szemben, mert azt hiszem nem ő a hibás. Legalábbis az idén megjelent^(Mikes^ György és Tábori Pál segítségével szerkesztett) Magyarországról szóló könyve alapján az az érzésem, hogy a mellékelt levélben szereplő idézetek nem kerültek volna be az Európáról szóló könyvébe, ha olvassa azokat. I have used your travel guides for many years and with the exception of the schedule of a camel market in Morocco I found them to be remarkably accurate and reliable. In our days, when nations learn more about each other from travel guides than they do in the schools, it is extremely important that the information provided be dependable and unbiased. This is the reason why I would like to bring to your attention some sentences from your book, Fodor1s Eurone—1972. On page 862 I read about Romania! "The western province of Transylvania was gradually conquered by the kings of Hungary in the Middle_Ages." And on pag 874 it says! "In the Middle Ages, Transylvania was extensively colonized by Saxon Germans and by Hungarians ." I realize that you cannot possibly be expected to read every line in every book you edit and this is the reason I bring the above to your attention, knowing that you are just as aware as I am of the fact that Moldavia and Walachia were united under a single prince only in 1859 and that therefore there was no Romania in the middle ages, the "western province" of which Hungary could have conquered.
