Today enjoy a tour of Kosice, the metropolis of East Slovakia, known for it’s famous cathedral. In the afternoon cross the border to Hungary. Continue on to Miskolc the second largest city in Hungary. Overnight at the Hotel Juno. (Breakf./ Lunch/Dinner) Day 10, Wed. MISKOLC/EGER. Today see the highlights of Miskolc. In 1544 the city was ravaged bt the Turkish forces and most of the buildings were burned and plundered. It was not freed until 1687. During the War of Independence the city again was plundered by the Austrian forces in 1706 and was recuced mostly to ashes. Today Mislolc is an important industrial center and a university city. In the afternoon continue to Eger. Because of it’s past history and world famous wines, Eger has become a famous tourist attraction, wealthiest cities. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Arany Bika. Day 12, Fri. DEBRECEN. Today enjoy a tour of this unique city. See the Calvinist College and the Great Church built between 1803 and 1816. The City Hall is one of Debrecen's most beatiful neo-classical buildings. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening enjoy a folklore show. Overnight Hotel Arany Bika. (Breakf./Lunch/ Dinner) Day 13, Sat. BUDAPEST. Depart for Budapest in the morning. Upon arrival check in to your hotel, Hotel Korona. Balance of day at leisure or for own activities. Today is planned to absorb all the magnificant architecture and the facinating history of the two ancient cities, Buda and Pest. This charming city is often referred to as the “Paris of the East", and is thought by many to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Some of the great attractions are the Heroes Square, the great Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion. The afternoon is free to explore the city on your own. After dinner enjoy a concert, ballet or folklore show. Hotel Korona. (Breakf./Dinner) Day 6, Sat. HIGH TATRAS/TRENCIN/ZILENA. In the morning depart for the High Tatras via Trencin, theancient Slovak town with one of Europe's largest castles. Stop in Zilena for Trencin, theancient Slovak town with one of Europe’s largest castles. Stop in Zilena for lunch and sightseeing. Overnight in Stary Smokovec, Hotel Grand. (Breakf./Lunch/Dinner) Day 15, Mon. BUDAPEST. Today is free for own activities. We suggest a walk down the "Váci utca" the pedestrian street lines with the city’s smartest shops. Here you can shop for the famous “Herend porcelain” hand made blouses or table clothes, wood carvings and much more. We meet for dinner and a Gala Farewell party. Hotel Korona. (Breakf./Dinner) Day 7, Sun. HIGH TATRAS. Today enjoy a half day excursion to Sturbske Pleso, farther up in the High Tatras than any other resort, lying directly under towering peaks and overlooking a delightful lake. Afternoon at leisure for a chance to relax and enjoy a walk in the beautiful valleys with enchanting waterfalls and crystal clear lakes. Overnight at the Hotel Grand, (breakf./ Lunch/Dinner) Day 8, Mon. KEZMAROK/LEVOCE/DOBSINA/KRASNA HORKA/KOSICE. Early morning departure to Kosice via Kezmarok and Levoce to see one of the richest treasures of historical buildings and old works of art in Slovakia. Proceed to visit the castle and the famous ice caves of Dobsina and enjoy a visit to the famous Castle of Krasna Horka, a magnificent structure dating back to the 12th century. Arrive late afternoon in Kosice. Overnight Hotel Slovan. (Breakf./Lunch/Dinner) Day 16, Tue. BUDAPEST/NEW YORK. In the midmorning we say "Good Bye” to Budapest and depart for the airport to board our KLM flight back to New York, via Amsterdam to arrive the same day. (Break.)
