KEDVES TESTVÉREINK I A mai napon kézhez vettük azt a 2.500 US dollárról szóló csekket, amelyet az Önök Klubja küldött az erdélyi menekültek megsegítésére. Istennek adunk hálát, hogy Kedves Testvéreink is szivükön viselik az Erdélyből hazánkba érkezők gondjait. Egyházunk »okezer menekültnek az ügyével foglalkozik, amelynek keretében többirányú segítséget igyekszünk nyújtani i ruha- és élelmiszer segély, pénzbeli gyors-segély formájában, illetve szállás és munkahely közvetítéssel. Mindezt a szolgálatot az evangélium parancaából adódó kötelességünknek tartjuk és így próbáljuk végezni. Miközben a Jószlvből fakadt adományt megköszönjük Testvéreinknek, biztosíthatjuk arról, hogy adományuk Jóhelyre fog kerülni, szorult helyzetbe Jutott embertársaink gondjainak enyhítését szolgálja. The objective of the Rumanian Government is to force the Hungarian and other minorities in Transylvania to surrender their ethnic heritages in order to accelerate assimilation. WHAT THE RUMANIAN GOVERNMENT IS DOING TO THE HUNGARIAN AND OTHER MINORITIES IN TRANSYLVANIA IS AN ARROGANT COMMISSION OF ETHNIC GENOCIDE IN FLAGRANT VIOLATION OF THE HELSINKI ACCORDS! The Government of Hungary is doing all that it can to help resettle the thousands of Hungarian refugees from Transylvania who have escaped over the border into Hungary seeking asylum. Unfortunately, however, its economic and physical resources are inadequate to cope with this serious problem alone. Therefore we, the members of the American-Hungarian Citizens Club of Rahway have, at our regular monthly meeting, unanimously voted to establish THE TRANSYLVANIAN REFUGEE RELIEF FUND with an initial donation of $500 for the express purpose of raising funds to send to the appropriate relief agencies in Hungary involved in helping to resettle the refugees from Transylvania. Our initial contribution will be increased by donations from members of our club and by other fundraising means, including the support of the Hungarian community at-large. Your generous support for this humanitarian cause would be warmly welcomed and sincerely appreciated.
