The Couücil of the Northern Lutheran Church District came together in Budapest on December the 19th 1957 and acimowledgxng the laws of the state obligatory for herself, stated that without prejudice to the lawfulness of Bishop Zoltán Tnróczy-’s election and bishop5s office expiring on December the 4th 1957, it regards ixa bishop of the Northern church district D.Dr, Lajos Vető,

Zoltán Turóczy was thanked for his loyal fulfillment of his long bishop's service and the hope was uttered that Zoltán Turóczy5s service would be proved effectual in the church further on- Tire council has confidence in his hishop ’ s service in advance and asks GodJs blessings on it. The Board of Council of the church district thanlo d ret. Bishop József Szabó for his services in the capaoity of deputy bishop and his efforts for the unravelling. Dr. Zoltán Lády, Inspector of the church district resigned of his inspectors office in the letter of the 14th December addressed to the Council of the church district.

The Council of the LUw.eran Gen al Consistory had a meeting in December,, On the meeting the council of the General Consistory stated that both the council and the general nzaekbiy have been wrong about the vacancy of the general inspector's post since October 1956, for Ernő Mihályfi did not give 15) his post of general inspectorate» Emö Mihályfi took over the Heading of the general inspector's office,

The same meeting of the council of the General^Cansistory ^ stated that D.Dr, Lajos Vető should be regarded as senior-bishop considering the term of office in the Lutheran church and because D, Lajos Ordass has become acting bishrqp later and his bishop's activity still lacks the approbation-of the Presidial Council of the People’s Republic,

The gen ral inspector announced on the same meeting of the council of the General Consistory that he did not accept Károly GiiinvalszEy}s resignation from his general secretary's office and the general sebi’etsry withdraw his giving up. The council by reason of that cal?.cd Károly Gr^nvadizky to take over the general secretary'z office» The council stated further on that it was necessary to counter-check all the resolutions of principles, statutes and regulations brought on the two last meetings of the general council or the last general, assembly, The constitutional and legal general, cor. mit tee was charged to accomplish this work»

The Presidium of the Lutheran . General Consist cry addressed a letter to the ministry of culture asking him to witoraw~the commissioner delegated to the church on November the 26th» The minister for e ulti’re gave an answer In his letter of 13th January according to which he withdraw" the commissioner both from the general consistory and the Northern church district, the minister transitorially maintained , however the commassion of the commiasionary in tire Southern church district further on.

On January the 20th 1958 the church's committee came together which was leading the talks with the state . begun in November but abrupted later. The committee adopted a resolution due to which it delegated the presidium cf the General Consistory, • D.Dr, Lajos Vető and Ernő Mihályfi, general inspector to negotiate again on behalf of tire church, ** ___
