presbyteries, v/ho had at one time connections with the Kiskoszmály movement, were everywhere remarkably reticent as to their grievances. They hold that all that happened to them and to their families was an act of judgment, yet of a gracious judgment by God* The "Az üt11 closes this report with an open letter to these people. Beloved Brethren, we take the liberty of sending this short letter to you. We take the message as well as many of the very words of our letter from the Book of Jeremiah, the great prophet, who, in his time, also sent a letter to his fellow-countrymen. "Thus saith the Lord of hosts*,«Build ye houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them;«., -und seek the peace of the city.*» for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace...Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which yo cause to be dreamed. For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name; I have not sent them, saith the Lord”* So much from Jeremiah's letter. It makes clear that it is not dreaming, not “the folding of the hands to sl$epM, not the expectation of a miracle that the Lord wants of you* The Lord is preparing a great thing for you. But this involves your removal from your old and aocustomed and comfortable ways of living and your transfer into new ways of life and now opportunities. Not only you, but all of us must understand this* God has a joyous and beautiful future in store for all of us. Let us close our letter with the words of the lord Himself: "I know the thought that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you and expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart". May God bless you that you may be a blessing 1 —7— Hungarian Church Press MORE RESTRAINT ! - An Editorial in the "Az Ut" -All who are observing, with vigilant love, the spiritual life of our congregations, may see with joy the fresh buds of vernal renewal on the tree of our Church* The Gospel has transfused new life into our services, Bible classes. As one of our rural readers writes to us; "Iho very bells of our church ring happier than before". Yet, with all our gratitude and satisfaction, things have come to our attention, very sporadic matters, yet grave enough to cause anxiety. Let U3 mention just one ot these. Ae one knows wall, we cannot be blamed for undue conservatism. This makes us free to say very emphatically: let us beware of undue haste
