It is the very characteristic of every noble human endeavour, that it wants to expand the fruits of culture and civilisation as common treasure to mankind. The maintainance of social discriminations is inhuman and must therefore be condemned by the Church. The leaders of the Lutheran Church are going to spend a week in Switzerland and will then return to Hungary. HUNGARIAN ECUMENICAL COMMITTEE REORGANISED The Hungarian Committee of the World Council of Churches was reorganised. The new office bearers are the following: clerical president: Albert Bex^eczky, reformed bishop, laic g resident: dr.Iván-Reok, general inspector of the Lutheran hurch, co-presidents: Zoltán Turdczy Lutheran bishop and dr* Béla Szentpéteri' Kun general inspector of the Reformed Church, acting vice-president: dr. Gyula Grod, general sec­retary of the Lutheran Church, secretaries: dr. Barna Nagy prof, of theology and Lászld Benczúr prof.-of religion, re­cording secretary: dr. George Harsanyi attorney of the Refor­med Conv^ntus, General secretary of the reconstruction de­partment became dr.Lászld Makkai, University lecturer* CHURCHES AGAINST ANTI-SEMITISM - REFLECTIONS UPON THE POINTS OE SESLISBERG­Three Hungarian Churches, the Catholic, the Reformed and the Unitarian published a booklet with similar outside appear­ance, but with different contents against anti-Semitism. The publication of each church brings the ten points accepted by the Christian and Jewish delegates at their common internation­al conference at Seelisberg /Switzerland/ in July 19 4-7* Each church adds an explanation to the points ascording to its own creed. The purpose of the booklet is to refute false anti-Se­mitic doctrines hiding in the church. CONFERENCE OP BAPTIST MINISTERS 70 Baptist ministers from all districts of Hungary met in a one-week conference on the lake Balaton at the end of June.In the absence of dr.Imre Somogyi, who after a serious operation is still in hospital,pastor M. Baranyai, director of the Baptist Seminary presided the conference. 'The subject was the church life and the missionary acti­vities of the Baptists, with a view to intensify evangelistic work amidst the general revival in Hungary.
