MARTON ZOLTÁN BÁLINT is a civil engineer with expertise on water hazard management, river basin management and climate change adaptation. He dedicates a significant amount of time working with hydrodynamic models, and assessing how they can be built into the current water management frameworks. In the first period of his professional career he worked at the United Nations Environment Programme Sci­entific Assessment Branch, as a climate sciences consultant. After that he started working at VIZITERV Environ Ltd., taking part in the high-water bed management project, the flood hazard and risk management project, and several small projects. He is currently involved in the hydraulic calculations for the Tisza- Túrköz flood retention reservoir, the preparation of the 3rd phase of the WFD River Basin Management Plan, and the revision of the flood hazard and risk management project.
