Miercurea Ciuc, Romania Abstract: During two seasons (2003 and 2005) two closed Libellula fulva (MÜLLER, 1764) populations were studied along two small, canalized creeks (Kutas-főcsatorna, near settlement Artánd and Kis-Körös near Bojt). The behaviour of males was studied with mark-recapture method. In 2003 was marked 185 in 2005 respectively 323 males. We studied the differences between the size of two populations, and the influence of population size on the behaviour of males. Our results suggest that the population studied along the Kis-Körös creek was higher that the another population, and in these bigger population males had bigger body size too. Furthermore the males in the bigger population has a higher daily mating success and the intraspecific competition was higher too.
