Significant increasc ofthe Cu and Zn conccnlralions could bc observed in llic organs during llic Cd exposure. Within one week of outwash, a significant dccreasc in Cd concentration occurrcd in the hcmolympli, niantlc and ituier gill, wliile in llic outer gill a significant increasc could bc dclcclcd. No further rclcase of Cd could bc dctcctcd during tluee weeks of oulwasli. During Pb exposure, a significant incrcase occurrcd in the outer- and inner gill of musscls, in the niantlc a lesser accumulalion could be delcclcd and no significant change occurrcd in tlic Pb conccnlralion ofthe licmolyinph and of the foot. The accumulalion of lead was accompanicd by a significant incrcase in llic Cd and Zn concentration of the organs, while the Cu concentration of lissucs proved lo remain constant. The conccnlralion of thesc mctals incrcascd cspecially in tlic outer gill and to a lesser cxlenl in llic inner gill and tlic foot. During the first wcck of outwash a sliglit rclcase of Pb took placc in llic gills wliicli bccamc significant by tlic end of the lliird week.
