President, Republik of Hungary Abstract: After the October 16, 1990, Meeting of the Hungárián Hydrological Society the President of the Republic of Hungary has honoured with his presence for the second time the meeting of our Society and addressed the audience. To quote him: " I cherish from the Hungárián Hydrological Society an image of thorough professional expertise and sense of duty instilled by her founding and leading members. They have always approached nature with due reverence. The activities of the Society have alwaysdisplayed professional objectivity and foresight " We greatly appreciate these complimentary remarks and hope his efforts will be successful.
