Gedeon Tihamér: Szulfátos vizek képződése
Formation of sulfate containing waters 105 Also the formation warmth of the single compounds affirms this process. Ferrosulfate is namely an intermediate product of the decomposition of pyrites only and its formation warmth is much lower than that of ferrihydroxyde. The oxydated yellow limoniteous layer can always be found with sharp contours within the covering layer at the opening of bluishgray pyriteous horizons. Waters containing the most sulfates cam be found at the borders of the oxydation zone or somewhat under it. We can conclude that the quality of sulfate containing mineral waters formed in sulfideous layers depends on the amount of the respective metal compounds in the range of their affinities to sulfuric acid.
