During the "Vintage Days" the town-crier will go from house to house in the inner city announcing the different programmes. On the day of the opening, a procession dressed in colourful folk costumes will march through the streets of the inner city: with grape garlands, and other symbols of grape-harvest, dancing and singing. The rest of the spectacular cultural events of the several-day long festivities will take place on Dobó Square:

The promotion of drinking wine gains a special importance in the "Year of Gastronomy".

Exhibition of dishes made of grapes and with wine

Exhibition of fine arts related to grapes, wine and grape-picking,

in the County Cultural Center.

The different professional events will include guest lectures related to vini- and viti-culture as well as professional meetings, providing the wider public with the opportunity to exchange information.

THE FEAST OF EGER

Places: the squares of the city of Eger, the historic inner city,

the Bishop's Park

Inaugural feast initiated by the civic organizations of the city, in co-operation with the local government of Eger. Established civic organizations and ensembles of Eger representing different fields and genres of culture and art are invited to participate in the creation of the programmes of the feast.
