VASS IMRE CAVE - SPECIAL TOUR

This 5-level cave is known for its hydrological properties. Mainly dripstone columns and straw salactites characterise the cave, but flowstones and helictites are also abundant. The unique colour of the cave is reflected in the name of the most outstanding formation the “Orange Cascade”. The tour takes an hour, and covers about 400 metres. The 2-kilometre long walk between the ticket office and the cave entrance is a guided ecotour and takes another hour.

For the protection of the cave the number of visitors is limited to 10 people at a time.

Schedule of the tours:

• In high season, tours leave at 3.00 p.m. even with one participant.

• In low season advanced booking (3 days) is necessary. Minimum number of participants is 5 people.

Admission fee: 2,000 HUF/person

Groups wishing to participate in the long and special tours at other times than above have to book via mail one week in advance. Individuals can Join the tours on the spot. Information on the time of booked tours is also available on telephone. Other equipment than battery torches is the visitors’ responsibility.

Students having ISIC ID card are given a 50 percent discount.
