Rudabánya The village is named after the Ruda Stream. The first records are from a diploma from 1351, which mentions a mining town. Presumably, Rudabánya is one of the oldest Hungarian mining settlements. Its gothic style church is outstanding in the region. The painted, coffered ceiling (120 panels) is from 17lh century. The main income was iron ore mining for centuries. The history and instruments of mining are on display in one of Hungary's most relevant collections on mining in the Museum of Ore and Mineral Mining.
