Guaranteed programmes Castle party In the environment of the centuries old walls, sending forth history, at the castle gate pages with torches and fanfares will receive the visitors coming from great distances. The pages will accompany them to meet lord and the lady of the castle and a goblet of wine will be offered to drink their health. During the evening, food of that ancient period will be served, according to the old custom and also the customs of society and the entertainments will be demonstrated. There will be a contest among the knights and an archer will win the handkerchief of the mistress of the castle. The Mediaeval tunes played by the orchestra endow a unique atmosphere. A marvelous sight appears if we look down to the town with its lights glittering in the darkness of the night. 06.08.-22/07.06-20/08.03-17-31 Cellar party During the evening Eger the town of wines will be presented to you in the Bikavér-Wine-Cellar. In this a very special wine-cellar restaurant, hewn in tuffstone, you will be served a real Hungarian goulash, an assorted, rustic cold dish and strudel. You will also enjoy a mini folk-lore programme. It will also be interesting to see how a „burgher” of Eger has a good time in his own environments. 06.01-15-29/07.13-27/08.10-24 Picknick party In Szilvásvárad in the Szalajka-Valley, near the Veil-Waterfall you will experience roasting trout and bacon on charcoal under the spreading old trees. As aperitif you will be served apricot brandy and with the fish white wine out of a cask, served in a special Hungarian way. On a nicely laid table there are salads and fruit baskets. This lovely picknick is accompanied by accordion music. Something interesting about this excursion is that you will go to the valley by a narrow-gauge train and you will grill your fish yourselves. 06.03- 10-17-24/07.01-08-15-22-29/08.05-12-19-20 Operetta party In one of the nice confectioner’s shops you will hear the most famous operetta music pieces by composers well known abroad too. These will be performed by famous artists.
