The Landlady adapted by Zabb Péter Zrínyi Ilona Gimnázium, Miskolc Summary: Mrs. Cribbens lives in a little town. She has an old house and she wants to rent it out. Many of the local undergraduates go to Mrs. Cribbens. They need a flat, but none of them return... One day Mr. Temple goes to the old lady. He doesn't leave. Two hours later Mr. Mullholland visits Mrs. Cribbens. He disappears. Nobody knows anything about the mysterious lady. Some people say that in the evening the people who have disappeared dance in Mrs. Cribbens' old house. A young undergraduate, Mr. Weaver, needs a flat. He hears about the possibility of a room. He visits the lady, too. Mrs. Cribbens doesn't want him to leave her home. When the police begin to search for the missing people, one of the policemen visits Mrs. Cribbens. During the questioning the lady says that she didn't know any of the missing men, and she offers a cup of tea to the detective. Two hours later a dead policeman is found. He was killed by poison; potassium. Poor Mr. Weaver arrives. He's heard about the owner of the house, but he needs a flat.
