Summary: Basil Faulty runs a hotel called Faulty Tower

together with his wife, Sybil. The hotel is not one of the best ones, the play is about communication problems between people staying in the hotel; such as Mrs. Richards, a moody lady in her 40's, who is deaf. Many other situations arise such as Basil Faulty wants to place a bet on a horse without his wife finding out. In the end she does and Basil comes off the loser.
