The Book That Saved the Earth by Claire Boiko r Szt. Imre Általános Iskola, Mezőkövesd Summary: A museum historian allows us to look back to the year 1994, to the fateful day when the Martians tried to take over the Earth. The space crew of five lands in a library, but are mystified by the books. Are they Hats? They turn to their vain, know-it-all leader for advice. From her command post on Mars, she informs them that the books must be sandwiches, and she orders one of the space crew to eat one. Then one of her assistants suggests that they are for communication, so she demands that they listen to the books. Finally, they agree that books are for looking at, and open one up only to find many pictures and a "secret code." Intelligence pills allow them to read what turn out to be nonsense children's rhymes, but what they infer about Earthlings from these rhymes causes them to abandon the take-over attempt and flee!-Cast— Historian...
