PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS

Pneumatic cylinders convert the energy of compressed air into mechanical work. Work may happen by rectilinear or alternativ rotary motion.

Kinds of cylinders

Single acting cylinders:

In case of this type of cylinders the compressed air affects one side of piston. When the working medium has been let out of cylinder, a built-in spring or an external force resets the piston into the starting position.

Using area: clamping, pressing, etc.

Double acting cylinders:

In case of this type of cylinders the compressed air affects both side of piston alternately. Piston is moved by compressed air in both direction.

Using area: bidirectional work

Technical features:

The technical data of a cylinder can be found in the table concerning the cylinder in question.

Fluid:

Filtered (by filter with pole diameter of 25 pm) oil mist added compressed air.

Some of the cylinders can be operated with fluid different from that:

— filtered air without oil mist: cylinder type 132-60, 132—61, 164—60, 164—61, 166—50, 166—51,

166-53, 166-55, 167-50.

— hydraulic oil: cylinder type 166-52.

Working pressure: — max. 1 MPa (10 bars)

Temperature range:

Allowed ambient and fluid temperature range in which the unit or system operates reliably.

In case of MECMAN cylinders: - 20°C to +70° C

Some of cylinders can be operated in temperature range different from that:

— max. 120°C: cylinder type 166—53

— — 30°C to +70°C: cylinder type 166

Lubricants:

MECMAN cylinders are delivered with long life grease which provides a possibility of operating without oil mist adding if it is required. Nevertheless you have to rekon with decreasing of the life time in this case. Accordingly oil mist lubricating is recommended.

Caution: Oil mist lubricating solves the long life grease, consequently not allowed to operate the system dry (without lubrication) after oil mist lubricating mode.
